Window issue with 2017 RF

scoredskip

Post

So I have a 2017 MX-5 RF and recently the window has been acting weird. When I open the door, the window drops a little (as expected) but it doesn't go back up when I close the door. If I keep opening and closing the door, it just drops a little more each time, I took a video here Additionally, I don't get the 40 seconds to put the window back up after the engine turns off. The window switch just doesn't work anymore. Sometimes when I close the door it just drops the window the whole way. I've tried the reset procedure of putting it all the way down with the ignition set to 'on' and then putting it all the way up and holding the switch up for an extra few seconds. Has anyone else had this or know what's wrong/how to solve it? I had the regulator replaced about 3 months ago by my local Mazda dealership under warranty, could it have gone faulty again?

Summary

This post is about a car window mechanism issue on a Mazda MX-5 RF, not a homeowner considering residential window replacement.

Reasoning

The author is discussing an automotive window/regulator problem, including door-open drop behavior, switch reset procedures, and a dealership warranty repair, which is unrelated to home windows or replacement intent.
