Does anyone have recommendations or tips to deal with night wakings? My almost 9 month old wakes up every night between 3-4am and it is an absolute battle for the rest of the night to get him back to sleep. I end up bringing him into my bed and nursing/holding him for the rest of the night until we get up for the day at 630-7am. I nurse him but even after he eats he is still awake and cranky/wiggling around in and out of sleep for the next 3 hours. I have tried absolutely everything to minimize these wakings and am feeling so defeated. He was a perfect newborn - sleeping 12 hours a night from 3-4 months old until we hit the 4 month regression and sleep has been awful ever since. We sleep trained with FIO at 6 months and things did get a lot better. Ever since he has been putting himself to sleep every night. I put him down awake at bedtime and for naps and he goes right to sleep with little to no fuss. He has been on a 2 nap schedule since 7 months currently 3/3/3.5-4 hour wake windows. Naps are 1-1.5 hours typically. He gets up for the day around 630-7 and bedtime between 7-730. He is still breastfed and feeds 5-6 times per day. Also having 3 solid meals per day. He sleeps in his own room (and then ends up in my bed at 5am when I am exhausted and give up trying to get him back in his bed). I have tried everything to help minimize the night wakings and nothing works. I don’t even mind the fact that he wakes up, I just don’t understand why he fights me for hours to go back to sleep. We have tried an earlier bedtime, later bedtime, adjusted his wake windows, feed, don’t feed, let him cry for 10-15 mins before intervening. He does not seem over or underwired at bedtime. He is not teething. I weaned him off the breast at night about 3 weeks ago and things seemed much worse. We now are back to night feedings because I am exhausted and at such a loss. Has anyone else had this issue with night wakings when their baby was sleep trained? I am desperate and dont know what else to try. Any tips are appreciated.
