I’m currently building out Home Assistant in a newly built, very airtight house. One particular automation I’m trying to solve is getting my BORA X Pure extractor status into HA . The use case is simple: because the house is very airtight, running the extractor creates big a need for replacement air. I’d therefore like to automate: Extractor ON → open VELUX roof windows Extractor OFF → close windows The Logic is extremely simple, but getting the cooking top status into HA seems unnecessarily tricky. I’ve searched for both official and unofficial BORA integrations, HACS repositories, GitHub projects, local APIs, etc., but haven’t found anything that supports the current BORA X Pure. I’m not necessarily looking for full BORA control. A reliable ON/OFF (and ideally extraction level) state exposed to HA would be enough. And obviously a local solution rather than relying on a cloud API… I’ve considered a few possible approaches: -Reverse-engineering the BORA app’s local/cloud communication -Looking for an undocumented/local API -Reading an electrical/interface signal from the BORA -Using ESPHome to expose such a signal to HA Potentially monitoring power consumption as a last resort I’m quite comfortable with Home Assistant, MQTT, ESPHome, APIs and custom integrations, so I’m happy to get my hands dirty. I’m mainly trying to establish which route is actually viable with the current BORA X Pure before I start reverse-engineering something that someone else has already figured out. I just don’t have quite the same amount of spare time for these rabbit holes that I had in my early 20s. 😄 Has anyone here successfully exposed the status of the BORA X Pure to Home Assistant, preferably locally? I’d be particularly interested in anything involving the BORA network protocol/API or an undocumented interface.
