For the third time in a few years we have yet another internet provider laying fiber lines in our area. Last one cut both my internet line and my sprinkler line, not to mention how they never restore the grounds to their original state. Yesterday they were hand digging in my yard within the PUE and I hear a loud pop, look up out the window and see two workers jumping and falling away from the hole. I tried to ask the workers about it but they didn’t speak great English. They said they hit the power line from MidAmerican but did not sever it. Said MidAmerican would be called out. But….hours later they just filled the hole in (around 4 ft deep) and MidAmerican never came. I never lost power….but should I call the utility company myself to report this? Will this cause potential future issues with that line? Or am I just dumb and maybe that’s normal?
