Question: Why can heat pumps use my existing boiler pipe work

Post

I have a brand new build and wanted to replace my gas boiler with heat pump. My boiler is in the garage so thought the Heat pump could sit the other side of the wall and Connect to the same pipes the boiler did etc but as my new tank which they can use is at the opposite side of the location available they want black pipping just underneath the upstairs windows to pan around the full back and part side of the house… what am I missing here why is that the only answer ? Cheers
