Was wondering if I am a good candidate for GLP-1s

Post

Hi, this post is a little embarrassing to make, but I am at my wit's end with my weight and don't know what to do. Right now, I (28F) am 5'2" and 185-190 lbs. I had issues with my weight when I was younger, but was mostly fit through college (about 120-130 lb). I gained about 20 pounds the first few years of grad school and sat at 140-155 for about 3 years. I then had to go on an antidepressant (because of grad school) and gained over 30 pounds in a single year without significant changes to my diet. This was especially frustrating because I was routinely walking 12k-13k steps a day due to my work. The weight is stubborn and it won't come off with regular diet and exercise. I am tapering off my antidepressant, but am about to be put on birth control for hormonal reasons, and am terrified I will gain more weight. My A1C is elevated and at the borderline pre-diabetic range. Is a GLP-1 right for me? What are people's experiences with the different types?
