I might be venting or seeking advice or maybe guidance but I’m so annoyed with the healthcare industry. I’m fat, mid 40s, my mother, father, and his mother all had diabetes, I broke both my legs when I was a teen and have metal hardware in both of them (I’m limited but not severely limited), my BMI is 30+, and I’m pre diabetic. With all that, my doctor never mentioned a GLP1. I wasn’t looking for one but I started to do my own research and seems like this might be a perfect fit for me. What’s the point of doctors? Why am I paying you? Dude literally told me to eat better and exercise more, he’s not wrong but shouldn’t he have mentioned a GLP1? I plugged all my data into multiple AI tools and each one says the same thing. Is this how medical care is supposed to work now, I take my data and lab results plug them into a LLM and then tell the doctor what to do? I’ve hated going to the doctors my entire life and I seem to understand why, it’s so pointless and exhausting.
