[Parent post: "Are these windows any good?"] Just bought a house and everyone keeps saying I need new windows but they look okay to me. They all open and close. It’s a little difficult on some but they do work. The sellers painted them to match the house. I personally love them but we haven’t lived in it yet so I can’t say how well they insulate. My husband and dad are insisting we change them now because bugs and dirt and energy efficien --- They don’t make them like this anymore. I’d at least try to live with them for a year before ripping them out! It’s an irreversible change. There are lots of ways to improve the seal and energy efficiency that would cost much less than new windows.
