Post

[Parent post: "would you pay $13,000 for blinds?"] I just got a quote for blinds purchase + installation. I am looking to get roman shades for 9 windows in my house, this comes out to over $1,000 per window. Is this reasonable?? It feels a bit pricey to me. What is a normal price for something like this? How much is the installation worth? --- I did plantation shutters on my last house for about $3k. Half of that cost was on the giant bay window with an arched top. I did Roman shades on my current house for about $100 per window. Stupid easy to install them myself. $1,000 per window is full blown insanity, unless it's like mine was, over 6' wide, with a custom curve.

Summary

The commenter is comparing prices for blinds and shades, but shows no interest in replacement windows or buying activity.

Reasoning

This is a casual opinion/commentary response about window coverings, not a homeowner researching replacement windows. The mention of plantation shutters and Roman shades is about past DIY and pricing comparisons, with no request for quotes, recommendations, or window replacement details. There is no clear buying intent for replacement windows, so this should be skipped.
