Hi there everyone - I’ve been lurking a while but finally joined this sub. I started struggling with my weight seriously at about 18/19 after being diagnosed with an incurable chronic illness (EDS for any other spoonies if you’re out there) and now I’m up to 225 lbs. I really want to lose weight and I feel like I spend my life looking for new recipes or meal plans or techniques to help make this all less awful. The problem is that I have a massive sweet tooth but I am also exceptionally averse to the taste of artificial sweeteners. I can always taste them, I always know they’re there, and I loathe them beyond measure. I find myself grimacing at the aftertaste even after several hours have passed or I’ve brushed my teeth. As I’m sure you all know, however, they are in so much stuff that people recommend for losing weight? They’re in the high protein stuff, and the low carb stuff, and every single weight-loss dessert hack on the internet. If there’s anyone else like this who has managed to enjoy a sweet treat on their weight-loss journey without artificial sweeteners I would love to hear from you ❤️
