Trigger warning for eating disorder talk, really need some insight. I started mounjaro last week and it’s been working insanely well for me so far. I got prescribed it despite not being obese for having really bad insulin resistance and struggling severely with binge eating (Pretty much every single day, up to 2-3 times every day) The issue is, before constantly binging as I have been I used to be severely anorexic, lost around 60kg in a year and never truly recovered, only went into a binge-restrict and gain-loss cycle which eventually settled with mainly binging. I know I probably never should’ve gotten my hands on this medication with this history and can already feel myself going into somewhat of a relapse. It’s so easy to eat so little on this medication and the lack of food obsession has made a transition into undereating amazing, with the lack of food noise turning into an obsession either my weight loss and how I look. That being said, not only am I now an adult with the knowledge that I will eventually die if I go down the same road, I really struggle with losing weight any other way. I suck at cooking, barely have the time for good food and mentally find it hard to be satisfied with healthier weight loss that takes longer. This has been immensely helpful for my binge eating but I’m in a limbo of purposefully going down the exact opposite unhealthy end with mounjaro’s help vs using it to change my eating and overall health for the better. My question is, if anyone has a similar history, do you have any tips for preventing a disordered mindset while on this medication? I need some help with getting rid of my all or nothing mindset and hopefully be able to make an actual healthy change, lose and keep the weight off in moderation. I don’t know if I will be able to. Thank you
