Post

[Parent post: "Energy usage excessive"] I’ll keep it short and sweet. I need ideas. I cannot get my energy usage down. It’s always been high but now I’m tired of it and with how expensive electric has gotten it’s getting overwhelming. I have gas water heater, furnace, stove, and dryer. Two window units, like 1500 sq ft house. But there is no trend that I can find. I’m averaging 1300-1700 kWh a month. Any help is appreciated. --- The only thing that drives electrical use is electrical use. If your major electrical loads (during the summer) are only two window units, a refrigerator, and a microwave I would recommend you look at your insulation, both in your walls, doors, and windows. Excessive heat transfer is one of the leading causes of the affliction known as high electrical bill. Also, window units are not very efficient and do not seal well from the outside heat you're trying to keep out. 1.7MWh of usage is rather large for that list.

Summary

The commenter is discussing possible causes of high energy bills and mentions windows as a factor, but does not show personal buying interest or a plan to replace them.

Reasoning

This is informational advice rather than a homeowner expressing interest in replacement windows. The mention of windows is generic and framed as a suggestion to the original poster, with no request for quotes, pricing, recommendations, or evidence they are considering a purchase. Because the comment is short and conversational, there is little to no buying intent signal.

Extracted Signals
