Hey! So I’m in my mid thirties, weaned my last baby in September, and since then my weight has ballooned. I’ve probably gained 15lbs, gone up a pant size, and all of my weight is suddenly in a pouch around my stomach. After my first pregnancy I actually dipped below my pre pregnancy weight, around 130 lbs. I was expecting to sit around 145 after this second one, but I expect I’m around 165. I am a sahm, and my eating habits haven’t changed, nor has my activity level. I usually take around 2 mile walks a day with my kids, and eat around 1000-1200 calories. I’ve always naturally done intermittent fasting, because I don’t really experience hunger feelings and eating makes me dizzy unless it’s after noon. So coffee and milk in the morning (maybe twice a week I’ll eat a protein pancake if I make it for my kids, unsweetened tea for lunch, then I eat an early dinner around 4pm. My son is on the spectrum and will usually only eat bland Whole Foods. So we eat pretty balanced. A protein, rice/noodles/potato/quinoa, veggies. I typically only pick around a little of the protein and starch. Then if I get a craving for a taste of something at night, I eat 1-2 gram crackers. So I guess I’m wondering if I’ve just hit the point of aging where my body decided to evolve to its final boss form? Has my metabolism slowed? Should I get my thyroid checked or anything? Do I need to reevaluate how/when I eat? I have endometriosis, so I do bloat an entire pant size every 2 weeks, then it disappears when I’m done with my cycle. Is this really just a simple case of I need to get serious and figure out an exercise routine for the rest of my life? I was sort of hoping the every day couple miles would be good enough, but maybe I really need to get cardio in there now? Thanks for your input!
