Hi! Not much to say this week. I had an excellent weekend celebrating my husband's birthday. Residents have left the city to go on holiday which feels lovely and peaceful, the only downside is that, at the moment and until the middle of the month, the city feels very empty. Most of the places I enjoy are closed : restaurants, caffes, bars, galleries ! I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that I've probably reached the end of my weight loss journey and should stop being in a deficit. It means I will now focus on maintaining my weight and that there won't be any more clothing replacements to come! I've kept the pieces that are now too big, just in case something happens and I gain weight or my body changes. That way, I won't have to feel miserable squeezing into clothes that are too small or spend money replacing an entire wardrobe. For some reason, talking with my mum about her Pilates classes and the yoga classes she's tried made me really want to go back to studio yoga. There's a studio I've been to before, and I think I'll register in September to go once a week. If I do, I'm pretty sure I'll commit to the full-year membership. It will wipe out almost all of my fun money for the rest of the year, aside from a few "essentials" I've already planned for. Those are: a belt, because I've wanted one for literally over three years and finally want to make room for it in my budget. It's not the most exciting purchase, but it will improve my life. setting aside money for a one-week pottery intensive in winter or spring 2027, so I can book a spot as soon as one becomes available. monthly massages throughout autumn and winter 2026. With those things covered, I should still have enough buffer for a few purchases in November or December if I feel like it (namely loafers, a replacement pair of jeans, and an accessory to keep one of my coat's collar closed when it's popped up), as well as my handful of yearly subscriptions. Originally, I would have put the yoga classes in my workout budget, but they weren't planned when I made my yearly budget, and between that and replacing my running shoes, there simply isn't enough left in that category. Sadly, it also means I won't have the budget to get my clothes tailored anymore. That will have to wait until 2027. I also wanted to buy a vintage navy wool coat, but there just won't be room for it in the budget. 😭 I already own a wool coat and a cashmere coat, so it's not like I need another one. It's just a little disappointing because I'd planned and budgeted for it after wanting one since the beginning of the year. It was supposed to be my last clothing purchase of 2026, but oh well ! On the other hand, I still have quite a few items listed for sale. Maybe that'll add to my buffer and eventually let me buy the coat after all ? It might also be the push I need to speed up the selling process (and maybe stop being so greedy about getting my money's worth from things I originally bought at full price). Well, for an update where I thought I had nothing to say... this ended up being rather wordy. TL;DR: Didn't buy anything. I might be about to buy a yearly yoga membership, which would mean I won't be buying much else until 2027.
